Your gift helps our ladies and men with I/DD
learn new life skills, like cooking!
The people you so care about are not growing but also getting older. With this, they need the same day-to-day life skills everyone else needs to be functional.
Learning basic life skills, like cooking, is essential to functioning better as an adult and becoming independent.
In August 2020, with your support, we acquired the Martin Center: a two-story, commercial building. This is good news.
Why?
Now, we can meet the challenging needs of ladies and men with developmental disabilities in new ways in our new stand-alone, facility-based center.
One of the exciting news ways is to offer Cooking Immersion classes to our ladies and men with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Thirty(30) to forty (40) different individuals will attend the new Cooking Immersion classes weekly.
Please, make your gift of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50 today.
The Cooking Immersion will offer opportunities to develop social, independent living, and vocational skills while also practicing cooking techniques and kitchen safety. Of course, exciting games, quirky crafts, and recipes would be part of the program.
However, many renovations are needed to add the accessible kitchen to the new stand-alone, facility-based adult day program at the Martin Center.

The cooking classes are part of the traditional day services like exercising, arts/crafts, gardening, computers, dancing, karaoke, hiking, board games, and music therapy.
Also, the new space at the Martin Center will include a game room set up with ping pong, foosball, basketball, and video games. In addition, an innovative sensory room with the latest technology will provide space for quiet time.
As you know, when you take care of the wonderful clients at Partners, Choices, and RHA, our community is stronger and better because of it.
