Who We Are
named Ohio’s Community Member of the Year in 2015 by the Ohio Provider Resource Association (OPRA)
Our emphasis is on adding new resources and maximizing and conserving current resources to assure the present and insure the future for people with developmental disabilities served by our partner agencies, Choices In Community Living and Resident Home Association.
We are governed by a policy-making Joint Development Committee consisting of representatives of the partner agencies.
Choices In Community Living is the fiscal agent for Partners For Community Living.
“The Dayton Foundation has a long history of collaborating with others to solve pressing community issues, helping organizations and individuals to help others in Greater Dayton. Partners For Community Living shares the philosophy of partnership for the community’s greater good. We encourage and support the forming of such partnerships.” -Michael M. Parks, President, The Dayton Foundation
“We need to be a voice for our neighbors, friends and family members with developmental disabilities so that they share in those things we all seek in life …. dignity …. a safe place to live …. a purpose.” Larry Hansgen, WHIO Radio and Voice of the University of Dayton Flyers, member of Partners Community Team
“MONCO Enterprises has had the honor of teaming with Partners For Community Living over many years. Our shared experiences have offered individuals that our agencies mutually serve many opportunities for meaningful work, while providing support for social gatherings as well. The individuals we serve have truly benefitted from the activities both agencies offer for adults to participate in life to the full extent that any of us would choose.” – Phil Hartje, General Manager, MONCO Enterprises, Inc.
“It is wonderful to have the opportunity to read about such innovative programs and be witness to the positive impact to individuals with disabilities living right here in our community.” – The Brighter Tomorrow Foundation

What We Do
Partners For Community Living provides our two partner agencies, Choices In Community Living and Resident Home Association, cost-effective and cost-efficient support and services that they could not afford to provide on their own, such as our shared volunteer program, shared website, database, staff training, fundraising, community outreach and advocacy.
Our staff from Choices and Resident Home team together for the mutual benefit of the people we serve. We share resources, training, and professional expertise/knowledge.
We strengthen our agencies through our shared fundraising, grant writing, donor development and in building our Partners Endowment through The Dayton Foundation, in conjunction with our John W. Pratt Society.
We serve our agencies through community partnerships, advocacy, marketing and education, including our monthly public access television program on DATV/CATV/Time Warner Cable,as well as through our person-centered newsletters and other publications.
Partners For Community Living serves as the statewide coordinator and executive producer of the audio documentary, Lest We Forget: Spoken Histories (in conjunction with Jeff Moyer: Music from the Heart); and the award-winning film documentary, Lest We Forget: Silent Voices, with filmmaker Mark Lyons.
